The moon of Dhul Hijjah has not been sighted in Pakistan; Eid-ul-Adha will be on June 7

Islamabad— The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee of Pakistan has announced that the moon of Dhul-Hijjah 1446 AH was not sighted across the country. In this regard, a central meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, in which representatives of astronomers, SPARCO, the Meteorological Department, and Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committees participated.

Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad told a press conference that no confirmed evidence of moon sighting was received from any city, including Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, and Quetta. According to the report of the Meteorological Department and SPARCO, the age of the moon on the evening of May 27 was about 11 hours, which is considered insufficient for sighting.

Eid-ul-Adha to be celebrated on June 7, in Saudi Arabia on June 6
On the other hand, the moon of Dhul-Hijjah was sighted on May 27 in many Islamic countries, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, and Malaysia, according to which Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated there on Friday, June 6, 2025.

Sacrifice preparations begin; markets are active
After the announcement of the Eid date in Pakistan, the purchase of sacrificial animals has accelerated across the country. The rush in livestock markets has increased, and traders have also become active.

According to government sources, the Eid-ul-Adha holidays are expected to be from June 7 to June 9, while security agencies and local bodies are preparing special plans for cleaning and timely disposal of the remains of sacrificial animals.
