Three new submarine cables to be laid in Pakistan, revolutionary improvement expected in internet speed

Islamabad: Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja has announced great news for Pakistani internet users. According to her, three more new submarine cables are being laid in the country, which will result in a significant improvement in internet speed and connectivity.

Shaza Fatima said that in the current era, the journey of development is not possible without information technology, and the government is committed to providing modern facilities to the people by increasing investment in the IT sector.

She further said that 10 million new mobile subscribers were added in the last one year, after which the total number of users in the country has reached 200 million. There has been a 25 percent increase in data usage in two years, while about 8 million women have started using mobile internet for the first time.
