A grand changing of the guards ceremony was held at the mausoleum of the Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, on the occasion of the 61st Defence and Martyrs’ Day across the country.
During this special ceremony, a contingent of cadets from the Pakistan Air Force Asghar Khan Academy took over the administrative duties of the guards at the mausoleum of the Quaid.
The chief guest of the ceremony was Air Vice Marshal Hassan Faisal. He visited the mausoleum of the Quaid, laid a wreath and recited Fateha. The chief guest paid tribute to the Father of the Nation’s illustrious services and ideology in powerful words.
The male and female cadets participating in the parade impressed the audience by displaying excellent discipline and training.
Defence Day is an important milestone in the history of Pakistan. This day is celebrated every year to commemorate the historic battle of September 6, 1965.
On that day, the armed forces and the people of Pakistan demonstrated mutual unity and courage and gave a befitting reply to the enemy’s aggression.
The purpose of this ceremony at the Quaid-e-Azam shrine is to salute the spirit of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country and to reiterate the commitment to national security.
At the end of the ceremony, the chief guest also recorded his impressions in the guest book of the shrine.
