The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) closed the trading session on a positive note as buying activity lifted the benchmark KSE-100 index by 368 points.
The index settled at 169,969 points at the close of business. The session also saw active trading across different listed companies.
Around 590 million shares changed hands during the day. The total value of transactions stood at approximately Rs 20 billion, reflecting continued participation from investors.
Market capitalisation also improved during the session. It rose by Rs 37 billion to reach Rs 18,927 billion.
The rise in the KSE-100 index and market capitalisation reflected an overall improvement in share prices during the session. However, a single trading session does not by itself establish a long-term market direction.
Investors continue to monitor domestic economic developments, global financial conditions and market sentiment for signals about the next phase of trading.
The latest session ended with gains for the benchmark index, while trading volumes remained substantial across the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
