Digital revolution in Punjab, Maryam Nawaz’s interest in blockchain projects

Lahore: A delegation of the World Liberty Organization met Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to discuss projects related to the development of blockchain technology and the digital economy.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the World Liberty Organization, Zajari Folkman, Zajari Witkoff, and Chase Harrow. Bilal bin Saqib, the head of the Pakistan Crypto Council, was also present. Discussions also took place on the ‘Air Punjab’ project and the bullet train project, as well as the tokenization of minerals, agriculture, and other resources.

Stablecoin solutions for transparency in digital transactions, improvement of the financial system, and security were discussed in the meeting. Further, the need to link remittances, financial transactions, and global trade with a modern and robust system was emphasized.

Appreciating the economic vision of the delegation, Maryam Nawaz said that rapid steps were being taken to make Punjab a regional hub of digital technology and online trade. The chief minister said that the government of Punjab welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with global institutions to promote the digital economy.
