Lahore-Rawalpindi bullet train project launched

Lahore: Senior Minister in Punjab Maryam Aurangzeb has said that Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz will fulfill their one more promise by launching the bullet train.

An important meeting was held under the chairmanship of the senior minister and the railway minister to consider the plan to run the fastest train from Lahore to Rawalpindi. At the meeting, a working group was formed to prepare the feasibility and timeline of the project, which includes Transport Minister Bilal Akbar, Shahid Tarar, and the chairman and CEO of Railways.

During the meeting, a briefing was given on new rail routes, networks, and the upgrading of tracks. Marriyum Aurangzeb said the working group’s proposals would be presented to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz next week.

He said that the chief minister is on a mission to provide affordable, fast, and comfortable travel facilities to the people, while the upgrading of railway stations in Lahore and Rawalpindi along modern lines is also part of the plan. Marriyum Aurangzeb further said that work will also be done on beautifying the Lahore-Rawalpindi track.
