ISLAMABAD: A resolution was unanimously passed in the National Assembly to express full solidarity with the armed forces of Pakistan. The resolution was presented by Federal Law Minister Nazir Tarar, in which all political parties showed solidarity after consultation and paid rich tribute to the professionalism, courage, and sacrifices of the Pakistan Army.
The text of the resolution said the House salutes the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the protection of the motherland and describes their sacrifices as a symbol of national pride, unity, and courage. The House appreciated the appropriate, responsible, and timely response of the Pakistan Armed Forces to India’s unprovoked aggression.
The House thanked the friendly countries that stood by Pakistan in difficult times and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to regional and global peace. The resolution made it clear that lasting peace in the region is possible only through serious, peaceful, and orderly negotiations.
The House stressed that the government should further mobilize the international community for the resolution of the Kashmir issue and urge the international community to play its role in the just resolution of the long-standing issue.
Underlining the importance of full implementation of the Indus Waters Treaty, the resolution said the protection of Pakistan’s water rights is a fundamental component of national security, on which no compromise is possible.
The House unanimously resolved that the entire nation is united for the defense, integrity, and sovereignty of the country, and the forces stand by Pakistan on every front.
