PMDC reforms MDCAT 2025 with a new framework. Digital system for transparent admissions

In a major step towards improving the medical entrance test system, the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has announced several major reforms to modernise the MDCAT process.

According to internal reports, the council plans to develop a new MDCAT framework within two weeks to address irregularities and complaints that emerged during MDCAT 2025. Officials said the upcoming reforms are aimed at strengthening the credibility and efficiency of future admissions.

After the completion of the framework, a special meeting of the Reforms Committee will be held in November to review and finalise the proposed recommendations.

The PMDC also plans to integrate modern technology and digital assessment systems in the testing process. This move will help eliminate manual errors, ensure merit-based assessment and increase transparency.

A PMDC spokesperson revealed that the revised exam model will emphasisethe quality of questions, design structure and secure marking procedures, thereby aligning Pakistan’s medical entrance test with international standards.

Officials believe that these reforms will restore the confidence of students, parents and medical institutions, ensuring a fair and transparent system for all candidates applying for medical and dental colleges in the country.
