Tensions rise in Hormuz, Iranian media claims civilian casualties in US attack

Tensions between Iran and the US have further escalated in the Strait of Hormuz, where Iranian media has claimed that the US military targeted civilian boats, resulting in the death of five people.

According to reports, the boats that were targeted were not affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps but were civilian boats carrying goods and passengers.

According to Tasnim News Agency, a military official said that after investigation, it emerged that US forces fired on two small cargo boats, which were sailing from Khasab to Iran.

Al Jazeera has also reported casualties in the incident, but this has not yet been confirmed by independent sources.

Experts say that such incidents could be a cause of concern not only for regional security but also on a global level, as the Strait of Hormuz is a very important passage for global trade and oil shipments.

The international community is closely monitoring the situation and fears are being expressed that the conflict could escalate further if tensions do not decrease.
