Pakistan expresses solidarity with Saudi Arabia on Houthi attacks

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has contacted Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and condemned the recent attacks by the Houthis on Saudi Arabia. He expressed Pakistan’s full support for the leadership and people of the country.

The Prime Minister said in his X message that his conversation with the Saudi Crown Prince took place at a time when tensions in the region are once again escalating. The two leaders discussed the regional situation and issues related to peace and security.

Shahbaz Sharif expressed concern over reports of targeting civilian and economic installations in Saudi Arabia. He said that targeting the population and important installations is dangerous for the stability of the region.

The Prime Minister made it clear that Pakistan stands with Saudi Arabia to protect its sovereignty and security. He said that in the current circumstances, the need for responsible diplomatic efforts has increased more than ever.

According to Shahbaz Sharif, the growing tension in the Middle East is not limited to the countries concerned. Its effects can reach global trade, energy supply and economic activities. That is why Pakistan will continue its diplomatic efforts for peace and stability in the region.

The Prime Minister also appreciated the leadership of the Saudi Crown Prince. He said that Prince Mohammed bin Salman is leading the kingdom forward in a wise manner in difficult regional circumstances.

Shahbaz Sharif said that Field Marshal Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and he himself will continue to make efforts to reduce tensions. Pakistan’s priority is to promote peace, stability and diplomatic solutions in the region.

On the other hand, Saudi officials have claimed a missile attack from Yemen. Due to the ongoing tension in the region, the issue of security of Saudi Arabia and protection of important installations has also become important.

Fighting is also ongoing between the Houthis and Saudi-backed government forces in Yemen. The situation is tense around Taiz and Marib, and reports of clashes between the parties are emerging in different areas.

Pakistan has also been emphasising reducing tensions in the region and resolving disputes through negotiations. The Prime Minister’s latest contact is also being described as a link in this diplomatic stance, in which regional stability and close relations with Saudi Arabia are of importance.
