Ishaq Dar’s important statement in the Senate: Increase in terrorism, strong stance on the use of Afghan soil

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said in an impressive speech in the Senate that there has been an alarming increase in terrorist incidents, which is even higher than the level of 2012.

He said that after the Afghan Taliban government came to power, there were no formal contacts between Islamabad and Kabul for four years. However, later talks were held under his leadership, and a clear stance was taken that Afghan soil should not be used against Pakistan.

According to the Foreign Minister, forty thousand TTP fighters came to Pakistan from Afghanistan, while the then government released more than a hundred hardline terrorists from jails, which had serious consequences.

He said that peace had been established in the country due to operations until 2018, but violent incidents have increased in recent years. Currently, the number of madrassas in the country has increased from 38,000 to 150,000.

Ishaq Dar further said that the government has finally decided that the war on terror will continue till the end, and the next round of talks with Afghanistan on November 6 is expected to yield positive results.

He revealed that in the month of May, India carried out 80 drone strikes on Pakistan, out of which 79 were neutralised. Only one drone caused minor damage. The US leadership, especially former President Donald Trump, played an active diplomatic role from May 6 to 10.

Ishaq Dar said that India’s false narrative has been exposed. Pakistani forces launched a counter-attack at 4 pm, which was completed by 8 pm, after which India offered a ceasefire on the call of Marco Rubio.
